I'm Sorry in advance I'm new to mercs and forums haha

So my new project... I will be converting a w201 to a om606 I will be wanting 400 ish bhp as a Dailey driver. I have a 606 engine with no loom and currently has the standard pump (electronicly controlled) witch I am intending to change for a dieselmecken pump (based off a 603? Correct me if I am wrong ) and either a hx 35 or 40 turbo .

So I am a mechanic but not great on the electrical side of things what would be the crack to get it running as the car I'm looking at is a 1993 190e 1.8 petrol with engine problems (by the discription sounds like it's burnt a valve) what sort of job will it be to make it run?

What gearbox recomendastions? Auto or manual? Think I would like a manual but I don't have a clue what fly wheel, clutch, slave cylider/release bearing will be needed and what prop and diff Someone sead  black somke raceing used a manual from a 330d?

Any recommendations please comment thanks In advance Luke or spesh

Great to hear! I am starting the same project, should be a blast to drive in the nimble 190. My first goal is to get the engine and trans sitting in there properly. Using the om606 w124 mounts, I'll let you know soon how they fit. I'm using the w124 non turbo (converted turbo) (weaker, yes but if I can hold 280hp reliable I will be good for a while) so I would hope the stock auto will be adequate. This is a big project for me to begin with so I'm aiming to compromise certain things. Trying to do least amount of cutting into chassis. The W201 om606 build log
http://www.superturbodiesel.com/std/show...p?tid=7154 I learned a lot from this guy's build thread, the best on this particular swap I've seen.

^^ There you go, box, flywheel, clutch all there ready to go. Shipping won't be nice, but such is life.

I put a Sprinter clutch, etc. on mine but have no plans for big HP so I don't know if it would tolerate 400 of them!

1992 W201 190D 2.0L and 1971 W108 280SE with OM606, electronic pump and 6 speed manual gearbox.
