OM601. take out injector after 300-400Kkm
Yes, today i have changed out my hydraulic valve tappets on my 190D OM601.
got some new nozzles yesterday as well, and was planning to replace them.
Lot the engine get hot and stoppet it, took of the pipes, and got a 27mm wrench witch was maked for this aplication.
But the injector sat as h*ll
Used a long arm as well, and the hole engine turned over.. and the car started to turn abit to..
Soo, how do u solve this kind of problem? ican see some rust on the injector also.
Planning to travel to the workshop and have som rust looser/penetrating oil on the top where the injector is attached.
But how do u people loosen them?
75nm to tourqe them to when instaling, right?
Yes, then after a lot of strugle i got them up.
Adjusted them to 135-145Bar range (that what i could find on OM602/3, soo i thought it was the same to OM601. The last injector i adjusted i read 115Bar on the housing. Fuck, so tomorrow i have to take them up and adjust them down
BTW i changed the nozzles
Naturally aspirated engines have 115bar and turbo engines have 135bar from the factory
higher pressure slightly less flow.
But usually people upgrade injectors to higher pressure.
Like turbo guys going from 135-150bar i know dieselmeken recommends it for his pumps.
and im yet to do it when i get time to remove my injectors. so i cant comment on the benefits.

In this video there's definitely something more wrong than only pop pressures. It sounds like one injector is making horrible knock.
google, impact torque wrench , is not that tool , the tool above is for masons
IDI injectors , don´t really need to have the nozzle replaced, unless they pee too much and one can´t have them spraying good and sealing. good quality nozzles (bosch, bosio, etc) are expensive, and don´t change much (performance).... pop pressure has a lot to do with the sealing and the noise, higher the pop pressure louder the nailing, in a performance built pump having the pop press to higher value helps in the quick response under boost...
But if u want your 601 to rock , i have a special 6mil pump for u... anyway u have to turbo it...
After work today i took out the injectors, and adjusted the pressure from 140Bar ish, to 115Bar.
A lot less smoke, and som less shaking from the engine. But more the engine was running, the less it was shaking. So gues it have somethink with the "drive-in" of the nozzles..
I dont think i want to turbocharge it.. Then i rather buy a w124TDT want to change out my gasoline S210
Is there any timingmarks you can see on the pump? like the camshaft/crankchaft marks?
Higher poptiming, is later injection because the pump need some more time to build up that pressure.. so if i could have had it at 140Bar, i had need a earlyes injection delivery.?
