I have a 1998 Mercedes C250TD Automatic and I am looking for and extra 100bhp or so. Although I would like more, I believe other parts need to be customised to support the power.

Could I get some advice on what turbo would suit my requirements or if I should actually get my turbo rebuilt and hybridised?

HUM, turbo will not give u that extra 100hp,
U need a better injection pump, and then with a gt 23V u can achieve the nr and drive as much as u want with that setup.
besides that , since your car has a ECU to control a Electromechanichal pump , some sort of remapping is always needed, and is not easy in your car.
for the pump i can help u with, the ECU i´m fighting to have one ready, by forum members like stary novy claim to have that thing sorted out.
as the end of conversation , first u should consider the IP, only after the rest.

As said, give that at least 6mm elements from 300TD EDC pump, stock 5.5 are way too small for any serious power gains and are even too small to max out stock turbo with pressure operated WG.

Om605 stock edc pump 250-280hp
Options to try are gt2871 or t04e
Those hp numbers are at 6k rev limit

Also need intercooler and exhaust mods.

I think the stock 2.5" is fine for your power aims. 3" will fit, but it's very tight and would need divots putting in. Just de-cat and you're good to go.
aluminised sections can be had cheaply off ebay- you'll need to hack the downpipe and do a few cut and shuts.
I used a 45 degree mandrel bend (I.D same as the O.D of the downpipe so it slots over) with a couple of cut and shuts to link the OEM downpipe up to my upgrade turbo which was both forward and above where the stock turbo was.
