Is it possible to run te mech pump without a return line? Was thinking of putting a low pressure hi flow fuelpump in the fueltank, feeding de ip-pump. Then connect the return line with a T between te electric en mech pump. Will this work?

It will. Question is how are u going to bleed the main gallery?
Instead of doing that use a 1.5bar check valve at pump return line. Actually the return exit is just for this purpose to bleed the system. And some excess pressure when engine is unthr .
U must by pass the mech lift pump at all cost. It reduces flow a lot.
Nevertheless u might find a good solution irespective of what i'm saying

Would not do that.. spent fuel which leaks trough spill ports is hot as fuck. So if you drive on low power there is lot of it and temperature builds up quite fast. Same goes for VE pumps, there is tiny 0,15mm orifice with spring loaded plunger for even more recirculation at high revs.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ex: 525tds 130kW, C250TD 160kW, E320CDI 200kW, ML400CDI 230kW, A6 R5TDI 130kW
Now: Q7 V8TDI 240kW, 320d 150kW, 335d 210kW

My problem is that my Jaguar has 2 fueltanks, wich can be switched with a switch. So when i use tank 2 and the return line is in tank 1, it can overflow.

Could you put an overflow between the two tanks, or join the two tanks and save the need for two in tank fuel pumps?

Think that is the best option.

The standard setup is to switch the return lines when switching the feed lines. This way one can run veggie in one and diesel in the other and not get them mixed up (much).
