They are out of the car. worked fine before just want to clean them. Is it safe to spray them w carb cleaner? Suggestions?

carb cleaner is fine, anything but water is OK. Just don't scratch them up

larsalan I guess I need to look at this stupid ass drip shit. What you have to like mess with those elements on the pump? What a fucking hassle. then use some wire to hold the throttle open or some shit?

carb cleaner is fine, anything but water is OK. Just don't scratch them up

Disassemble them, soak in acetone and scrub with a chemical resistant nylon brush, then dip in ATF and reassemble. I don't know about cleaning the nozzles, on both my cars I did this while replacing the nozzles.

'77 300D, 617.912, HY35 15psi, 3" side pipe, maxed out stock MW pump (Sold, now converted into a ute)
'87 300TD, 603.960, questionable mods from the PO including a ghetto 3" straight pipe

You don't need to if it ran kinda alright before, but it's a good idea to.  They're usually worn out of spec by the time they need to be cleaned.

I just wanted to change my nozzles but was worried about not having a pressure tester. Il get em changed then.

Never pop tested mine, 617 ran way better after new nozzles. My 603 has had a few injector bodies swapped and idles like shit, I need to balance them
