Air filter cfm, do i have enough?
Air filter cfm, do i have enough?
Hi, a common question but no solid answer.
Om617, 7.5mm m-pump, 315 injectors, 60mm Garrett turbo, full width bar intercooler.
Current air filter is a Jaguar canister with a EAC 9828 WIX equivalent with a ram air snorkel system from roof area.
I cannot find any cfm for this filter and would like to know if the engine is getting enough cfm to run properly,it runs fine but just making sure.
No not interested in the cone filter but maybe a Donaldson of correct cfm's for improvement for sure.
Input greatly appreciated
Fit a filter minder, it's the only way to be sure, and only way to know when the filter needs replacement too. They are these little vacuum gauges found on the air filter of pickup trucks and machinery. They record the highest amount of vacuum seen and tend to bottom out around 5-6kpa of depression. Then you press a button to reset the reading.
They can be had for just a few bucks on eBay.
larsalan I guess I need to look at this stupid ass drip shit. What you have to like mess with those elements on the pump? What a fucking hassle. then use some wire to hold the throttle open or some shit?
^^ Service trucks (F350, anything with a box body, etc.) in the junyard usually have them too.

Yeah best answer is just to find out yourself and see if there is any vacuum in the feed between filter and turbo.
