Dear Diesel junkies Shy

I am fitting an Om606 in a 4x4 Renault truck, with the 722.6 trans..
Got a 115cc max mechanical pump from dieselmeken, and now i'm wondering what turbo to use for a quick-spool, not looking for very high rpm's, daily drive setup..

To get a bit of early spool in the range of the torque-converter i think it is important the turbo is at least not to big.. wright?

At the moment i´m orientating on a Volvo TD04HL-19T  ór a Holset Hx30..  Am I thinking a good direction? Smile

Hx30: 40 inducer 70 exducer
19T : 46 inducer 58 exducer
18T : 44..           56 ..

A\R is a bit too much math for me eh..

thanks for some advise !

the holset he221w is slightly smaller than a hx30 but flows a little bit more. im running it now and it lights around 1500 rpm it should flow enough for around 250 hp.

Thanks, He221w souns like a good option, but difficult to get here in Europe..
I´m curious if someone experienced a Volvo turbo or can recommend one of those Td04´s .. These are much easier to find and replace parts here.

A TD05 is an option too, bigger turbine wheel. The 16g small has a 46.5/60 compressor. 115cc should get you over 300hp so don't go too small. I suppose since you have 606 and need an adapter you have choices between t25, t3 etc. If you choose td04 I'd consider one of the 9 blade turbine wheels as an upgrade.

TD05 is interesting too.. despite is has a bit weird flange though!

Would a TD04- 19T a bit small you think? got my eye on one now.

also found a hx30 and hx27w available..  Please help me choose! haha Blush

PS: i know there are already a lot of turbo options described.. but i dont find many regarding to small amount pumps like mine 6mm 115cc..

For such a small pump output the is a GT23V series turbo.
Beeing a VNT will kick in fast and u can trick it to blow in high if u need it. 115cc pump i assume is a 6 mil pump . Wont push much...
Regards.

I dont know what afr you are planning, but that turbo is really good for 63cc on an om617 at about 20:1. The math is really not very hard and you should try to find something that is good for your use. I think it will be a bit too small for low egt and for your use the egt is important.  Maps

the he221w would be the fastest responding of the lot however there are a few sizes of hx30 the largest one would likely work well too. try messaging alcaid on the forum about a turbo as he is a holset dealer. alternatively these guys sell new holsets and will ship anywhere http://www.eurotrashmotorsports.com/

I had an hx30 and it basically choked my engine after 3000 rpm. Power up to there was good but would have started sooner with he221. This was with 90cc. You have the advantage of a better stock manifold which might help. 6cm housing is small and wastegate hole is tiny. I would pick 221w over the hx30, but go for the 7cm housing if you have the choice.
