Need help with turbo selection.

I have a gwagen with a 606a, dieselmeken 7.5 pump. Not chasing hp numbers or after a drag car,  just want a nice runner.
At the moment stock kkk k14. Just not cutting it wont boost over 10psi even absolutely pinning it.
Would the Holset HY35w or super HX30 be a better fit? I know the hx30 has 6cm exhaust housing what size is the kkk k14?
Would you notice much difference going from kkk k14 to super hx30? or do I go that step bigger to hy35?

Any advice would be great,
Cheers

I believe the k14 has a 5 or 5.5cm housing. The turbine wheel is much smaller than the HX30 and HY35

HX30W 73/44 (standard) would I think get you around 240hp so depends what you want, HY35 I suspect might be a bit too lazy for your application

Look into an He221. Flows better and spools better than an Hx30, unless it's an Hx30 super. I went for an He351cw for my om605 gwagen. I have roughly 20psi by 2500 rpm. That or an He341 could also be an option.

Thanks,  i didn't look at vgt just because of the control on my old G.
But that's now history, i have already ordered the super hx30 so hanging out for that now. Will be interesting to see how it goes. Here is my G https://www.instagram.com/g__460/
Now need to sort out what oil lines to run as i think the super has a funny oil flange and make a manifold adapter.

If you cannot boost over 10 psi with the k14, you have a wastegate problem. It is too small for sure and you should replace it, because it is probably not very efficient at higher boost levels. But you should easily be able to get 20psi or so from it holding the wastegate mostly shut. I run that turbo with 6mm elements and modest fuel and it will easily hit 18psi.

Thanks @atypicalguy for the info. I am sure my intake side is not good either. Definatly have some boost leaks and my air intake box/filter seems pretty restricting.
Got all the parts now so on Monday I am installing the super hx30w with a new intercooler, pipes and 4 inch airbox. Finally will be able to turn the dieselmeken pump up.
Looking forward to seeing how it performs.

its an old thread but did you replace the stock wastegate vaccum clock om the kkk?
if not, try to apply a vaccum hose to it and give it a go.
