For those of us running larger elements in our 603 I.P. pumps and wanting a better control of return pressure and a way to adjust it I found this.
I am using a adjustable Torkteknology cummins 12 valve bypass valve.
It uses a stainless ball and spring as well as a improved seat design.
It is adjustable from 15-34 P.S.I.  Luke at DieselpuimpUk recommends 1-2 bar I.P. pump return pressure.
The thread is 14 mm so it won't screw into the 603 pump which is 12mm and you couldn't get to it under the intake so I moved it remotely to the fuel filter housing and plumbed it with -6 A/N fittings.
Using a Bosch 044 fuel pump and 3/8" pressure and return lines.

Great info Zeeman thanks for posting, which model did you use, they seem to have a few different ones but I didn’t see one that had a 15-30 psi range

I used the OFV020 which is compatible with biodiesel.  They are preset but they are adjustable from 15-30 P.S.I. Check out there installation page for more info.

Thanks Zeeman, that looks like a different manifold you’ve got on there, is it an OM648?
Cheers

It is a 606 non-turbo modified manifold. With the stock 606 intake, the intercooler flows directly into the # 3 and 4  cylinder a poor design. With this the flow is divided between the two chambers equally. If you look at a 648 intake they went to a similar design.
