722.608 Police upgrade?
722.608 Police upgrade?
I've got a 722.608 from '98 E300TD and would like to upgrade the gearbox to handle considerably more torque.
Question:
Is a NAG1 from Dodge Magnum Hemi V8 Police package the same as SRT8 & 722.6xx AMG V8 internally? I've read the police & taxi trans had larger cooler but idk about gears & clutches.
Would a bellhousing swap and 4 bolt prop shaft flange be all I need or do I also need the V8 TCM?
Any/all info is appreciated!
(05-31-2017, 07:34 AM)You can fit more friction plates to your gearbox then it will handle a lot, if you want huge amount of hp/torq then take planetary gears from mb v8 or v12 gearbox then you can go beyond 1000hp if the jobb is done right. What are you putting it in. What car? If you are in a factory car you have to have the same gear ratios. So check to see if it is a large nag or small nag ratio set in EPC. If not then it does not matter much and throw it away and get a standard v8 transmission. Dodge or Mercedes and put a valve body in it and be done. No need to upgrade clutch packs at all. Swap the bellhousing if you need to for your application.
We put over a 1000whp whtq through stock transmissions at over 6k lbs awd vehicles.
