Hi,

I am looking for an injection pump from either the 3L or 3.5L inline six cylinder engines. Please let me know if you have one, or know of one, via PM or in this thread. Thanks!

I know this is an old post, but I've got a 3.5L core pump collecting dust on my shelf...

OK, so here's the sad story:

I bought the 3.5L pump off eBay in February 2008, supposedly a good pump from a 350SDL. At the time, I didn't know how to check it without installing it in a car, so it sat on my shelf for 18 months. In the meantime, I learned that when you remove the side cover, the rack should move smoothly & evenly when you push it with your fingers, and should move easily when you operate the external throttle lever. After learning that, I checked out this pump, and discovered the rack doesn't move smoothly. It's not locked up, but it doesn't move nearly as easily as the working pumps on my cars. I didn't even try to install it on a car, so it has not been tested.

I think it may work fine once it's cleaned up internally so the rack moves normally, but as it sits right now, it's a core pump that needs work. I would also assume that it will need new DV seals and other external seals. I know some folks were claiming the 3.5L pumps make more power than the 3.0 pump when installed on a 3.0 engine, although I never have been able to verify that.

So to answer your question, $125, free shipping in the USA, PayPal is fine. I was going to put it on eBay for $149/obo as a core pump. I can post photos if anyone is interested. It's in decent shape, not all rusty & corroded, but it doesn't look brand new either.

Undecided

Consider it sold. Cool
Before I ditch the electro-magnetic beast on my 606, I want to have an M or MW to mess around with and get my hands dirty.

PM me an email address for PayPal and I'll wire the money instantly + provide a shipping address.

Thanks,

Matt

The 3.5L pump is sold (thanks, Matt!). I also have a 1987 3.0L pump in similar condition, same sad story, same price, if anyone else is interested...
