Alternate clutch pedal options
Alternate clutch pedal options
anybody played with the idea of adapting a non MB clutch pedal apparatus into a MB, for availability and cost reasons? Like maybe a volvo, but ideally something domestic with a similar pedal travel that would be a dime a dozen to find and adapt?
Personally, I felt that travel was similar in a volvo 740, Jeep cherokee, and possibly a ford F-150.
Not really. They are common and cheap in the junkyards and it pays to have a 100% bolt-in system.

You are right forced, just idle curiosity for random fabrication.
Since the Brake pedal assembly on the 300D and the brake/clutch pedal assembly on the 240D are both using the same mounting bracket, complete with identical holes to bolt in a master (240) or an electrical box (300), It would be interesting to see if you can't buy two 300D pedal assemblies and make a clutch pedal out of one of the brake pedals.
This is borrowing trouble, but could be a fun pointless project, especially when figuring out the spring and pivot.
Kind of like welding a soup can heater to your exhaust manifold.
