More torque out of OM617
More torque out of OM617
Hey guys I'm looking into swapping a OM617 into my Jeep since I have high miles and love the idea of a diesel. Ideally the low end torque is what I'm after, which is about equal to that of the stock 4.0L in the Jeep in the upper RPMs. I know you guys are probably more familiar with more hp but since my Jeep will weigh in at 2.5 tons what would help increase the torque for off roading? Thanks
Search around here for swapping on a VNT turbo and rack limiter removal. Completely transforms the engine's torque curve.
Note: this is with stock fueling, removing the rack limiter adds another 10hp to the wheels.

FI,
I assume we're talking 617A here?
Sorry for the noob question but how is anyone controlling a VNT turbo on an ECU-less engine?
