Larger Diameter Wheels from the 14's
Larger Diameter Wheels from the 14's
My 300D is stock with 14in wheels. After 3 months of ownership, I am wondering if going to a 15in wheel would be better in terms of an overall higher gear. There definitely seems like there is room. Anyway, what is the recommended setup for increasing wheel size? Preferrably a MB wheel. I am not interested in the low profile tires and performance. I am seeking a little better handling, comfort, and a little higher gear. Obviously, there would need to be a speedometer adjustment as well. Please advise. Thanks.
I think a lot of MB wheels are 16. I saw a few sets of 16x7 by st. louis.
you can use searchtempest.com to help search CL.

And find a wheel/tire size calculator online somewhere.
And yes, more circumference on the tire will me less revs at the motor to go the same speed.
why not go with a bigger tire on the same rim? stock 14 is what, 195/65 R14?
Ive gone as high as 205/75 R14. I measured once, it was like 5-6 inches further distance traveled per revolution, but the tire was a couple lbs heavier on the rim.
Yeah Dropnosky has a good idea.
Rather than spending more money for wheels and tires, just get a larger tire.
The largest ive seen on a w123 is Captain Americas 300D.
I belive they are 225/75R14.

Yeah, the tires I got were either the 225/75's or 225/70 R14. I don't remember at the moment.. They make for a nice ride though, that's for sure.
