Torque Specifications
Torque Specifications
Anyone have a list of torque specifications for a 1983 240D?
Chilton manual has very little detail on anything and my MB service manual does not have a complete listing.
I’m looking for the following torques:
Starter bolts
Rear axle shaft to caliper retaining bolt
Engine mount to engine
Rubber engine mount bolts to frame
Drive shaft to rear end
Drive shaft to transmission
rear end to subframe
Thanks

I usually use about 10 to 200 gruntpounds on the breaker bar, depending on phase of moon, water table levels, and if brazilian cocoa is high in the market.
To be honest, as long as you don't overdo it you should be good.
Judge by type of material, and what size bolt or nut it actually is.
