'84 300sd Speakers?
'84 300sd Speakers?
Acquired this car, last summer '10, and have been restoring mech & now "looks". I replaced an ol Pioneer cassette tape/radio with a nice, new Sony ... My speakers are not terrible (either orig or replaced some time ago), however, I care to replace same... A lil' krappy on lo-end sounds.
Anyone know what an '84 300sd has relative to speaker size and replacements? I understand "clearance" to be a challenge on the fronts which I understand may be close to 4 x 6". Rears? Don't know.
I'm all ears on any suggestions.

Pretty sure its 4x6 in all four corners. I cut out my deck lid and put 6x9s in the back though.

Pioneer everything. Really happy with it.
If I remember correctly I put Alpine 4x6 speakers in all four corners. Had to make some spacer/grills for the rears but they do not look out of place. Sounds much better than what I had but I had all original stereo prior to that. I put in an Alpine head unit at that time.
Look up Infinity 6412CF, 6422CF, 6432CF, basically the same model with slight changes over a couple years. They fit perfectly for me with only minor cutting of the speaker's bracket. I'm happy with the sound, but I also have a Boss BASS600 velcroed to the rear shelf.
