Wheel spacers on a w123, for CLK wheels
I noticed in a thread on lowering that GileadGarage has 16" clk 320 wheels and says he only used 5 mm spacers and was able to keep his stock bolts on his w123 300td.
The wheels look awesome but I'm puzzled how they are looking like they were made for the car, when they are 37 mm offset and GG only had to apply 5 mm.
I had already bought 19mm spacers, but had not installed the wheels yet. Now I am concerned I'll have tire contact.
So in summary can someone confirm for me on the 5mm figure, and also where can I find that narrow spacer? Everything I see is minimum 10 mm.

you should be able to run no spacers on the rear, but I couldn't in the front with those CLK rims. Tantank, how are you doing that, do you have any pics? Mine contacted the tie rod, maybe a different brand tie rod?
I was using 1/4 inch spacers on mine for both front and rear, just generic wheel spacers I attached to the back of the rim with some RTV. Super hack, but properly balanced it worked. Gave me about a 1/4 inch gap for the tie rod in the front
Those rims are especially nice as the stock lug works just fine even with a 10mm spacer. The OEM Bundt it thicker than the CLK rim at the mounting point, so you still have a decent amount of thread available when you switch em
Would definitely go with the hub-centric spacers though

I've run them with 205-55-16s all around and now with 225-60-16s in the rear only. I think tie rod brand may be a determining factor in whether they fit, since I tried them on a different w123 and they scraped the tie rod end. My current setup clears the tie rod end by about 1/16", but doesn't scrape under hard cornering. As noted by others, I can't run a front center cap.
I just narrowed the the tie rods and put spacers behind the brackets and used longer bolts
You can put a washer behind this bolt and push the tie rod out nearly 3/32nds so that it will clear et 37 rims easily. Just be sure to get a front end alignment after doing this. You should not use the bundt lugs, but the lugs intended for the rim. Lugs ARE NOT just lugs. ................................... [img][/img]

One has a ball seat which curves, adn the other a cone seat which is straight. You need the proper seat and the proper length for each rim.
