Adaptor Kit to use W124 5-speed in W123 cars

Because this link won't last forever I've made some screen shots for you.
A rough translation for you non Dutch speakers out there - done by yours truly - so it will be a bit off!
Adapter kit for older 4 speed W123 (and other older models) to enable you to fit a W124 5 speed gearbox.
The adapter [rings] replaces the transmission adapter to allow you fit the W124 5 speed gearbox. The starter remains in the old position.
This kit only contains the adapter rings. Other alterations such as transmission mount and the propshaft are simple enough for you to work out yourself [!]
525 Euros for the adapter rings (excluding the gearbox and the engine)
...
So you'd still need to sort out the propshaft, flywheel (if it wasn't a manual one), transmission mount, and other bits such as a gear lever in the right place (perhaps?)...

Not sure how the starter manages to extend that far?
It seems to me that the flywheel and starter could be in the same place as would be stock, so it would still engage properly, but how do they make up the extension of pushing the transmission back?
I feel like the kit is missing a part, an internal spacer, or something is unexplained. Do they space out the flywheel? at which point Winmutt's question comes into play.

Does anyone have any very rough guesses as to the universal supply and demand for these?
I contacted and received (I was shocked) a response from a head honcho at Getrag about this transmission. He indicated there were really no records. A thread dedicated on this would be nice, to include what type of flywheel is needed, the trans member, driveshaft issues, et cet. I really don't know a great deal, other than it's going to be tough to find a good working 717.400 AND a 4-speed donor car will most likely be needed.

yeah, I was looking at an older PP thread from a couple years ago that was talking about how this kit is specifically to modernize the older gas engines and give them an overdrive, I guess for the old classics or something. Someone had pointed out that the old gas engines and the iron diesels apparently have the same bolt pattern.
Like a euro gearvenders overdrive
