half shaft dissaaembly ?
half shaft dissaaembly ?
I picked up a set of boots and almost have the axle shafts out of the car, is there a trick to take the end apart?
Never done it personally... I have the mercedes FSM on my computer that has the procedures for replacing the boots.
PM me your email and I can send you the pages that show how to replace the boots.

P.S. I see you're in "Napa?" I live in Napa as well... there's a mercedes guy here that is usually pretty helpful and knows a good amount about these W123's. Usually willing to give advice as well. His name is Marc, maybe you already know him?
P.P.S if you ever plan on doing the front lower ball joints I have the tool to press them in. All the shops in the area wanted $100 minimum to press them both in so I just bought the tool
I am in Napa and own a Duramax too but no euro headlights, my second cousin tad half a dozen diesel mercedes
I looked into this too, don't think you can disassemble the cans without grinding off the lip and otherwise destroying the end cap of the cansiter and needing a new cap.
there are some pretty interesting youtube videos showing how you can use a lubed up funnel to slide the boot over the can though with it all together. its possible to do without taking the can apart. Never tried it, if you do, post pics!
