clogged primary filter? Have you done any investigating? Usually the problem is fuel or air, right?
How does the motor start/run?

Rusted out beat down 300d turbo 82' -- RIP
Nice body, tons of ridiculous mechanical issues - 300d turbo 82' /motor 85'

Is the engine warmed up before you try leaving? Diesels like to be really warm before they start making any power

-1982 300D Turbo, 280k miles, ALDA apparently maxxed, fram 8038, 12 lbs boost, non-egr manifolds, W/M injection, 4 brake light mod, Gen II w126 front rotors/calipers, 4-speed swap
In the works: A/W IC, adjust pump, turbo rebuild (w/60 trim comp wheel)
-1980 300SD, 110k, project car. Goal is to get it lookin' like it did on the showroom floor (body and interior wise, not necessarily under the hood )
-1974 240D, FRESH PAINT!!!!!!

check that the ALDA is adjusted and the line to it is clear it starts on the back of the intake manifold and run to an over boost solenoid and then to the top of the injection pump make sure the banjo bold on the intake is clear and not full of gunk!

I always bypassed the solenoid on the fire wall and run the line strait from the intake to the ALDA

Very common complaint, and more with the 126 chassis (heavier) and most are slow at best under that condition. If it runs good after warm, after checking all normal service procedures. Adjust the ALDA,(Engine fully warm),quickly rev engine to 3-4 thousand rpm while watching smoke from tail pipe,DO NOT HOLD RPM,let off.adjust screw up intill heavy black smoke ,adj.screw down untill loss of power.Looking for some smoke, light grey.(NOTE) listen to engine, there will be a harshness in sound while revving, when rich (smoke)back down untill engine smooths out while reving but before loss of power.
Injection nozzles that spray too fine a mist will cause a loss of power at lower rpms.(o-8mph) 2sec,0-60mph. Does not sound like much, but many complaints. Good luck.

Remove the ALDA. If the problem goes away, then you know it was bad. Afterwards, I'm not sure how adjustable it is if it was causing that big of problem. You can shim it with washers (there might be a washer under it already, that you can use to match sizes), or you can find a replacement ALDA.
