No you can't use the transmission starter is in the wrong side you need to find a transmission from a W123 diesel every thing else you can use

'77 is the old M115 engine with same starter orientation as OM61X Should fit. Depending on age of the OM617, you might still have to change the gearbox flange plate, they changed the centering from screws to dowls, but I'm not sure when. You'll see.

The M102 engine/230E was introduced in 9/'80. As was the new 109HP 200. Both M102 engined cars (230E & 200) share the same drive train.
