Koch Diesel Conversion
larsalan I guess I need to look at this stupid ass drip shit. What you have to like mess with those elements on the pump? What a fucking hassle. then use some wire to hold the throttle open or some shit?
I was over at the Bantam Jeep festival and they had a Wrangler on display with an OM617 in it, here are the photos/ video I took. It's the Koch diesel ( http://www.mercedesdiesel4x4.com/ ) guys.

Pretty sweeeet! I'm just wondering, why does the oil pan need to be so massive?

It's +1 qt, my guess is that if you're going through the trouble to make a custom pan you might as well gain some oil capacity. Then you won't have that annoying 1qt of leftover oil on each change :p

That makes sense
Nothing to brag about but here is my '86 Yoda 4Runner I built last year:

Um, that's a lot to brag about! Did you use a conversion kit?
Any major hangups while swapping?

Sweet! They have motor mount adapters for $60. I can use those for the FJ40 swap. I'd rather use those than fab my own (lazy).
You jeep guys have it good with the crawl ratios. The FJ40 has a pretty tall low range which might prove problematic with low off-boost torque.
