Water to air intercoolers.
Water to air intercoolers.
Alright school me on water to air intercoolers there is as we all know not alot of room for a standard intercooler on our cars but we have room for a water to air style but is there a certain way of sizing one? how do they work exactly?
There's the core the air goes thru, and a water circuit, and a radiator to disperse the heat picked by the water in the core.
The core size would be calculated by how much cfm of air you need for the hp you want, so it's directly related to hp. The radiator size would be based off how much heat the turbo generates, which could vary depending on the turbo.
Hmm so these ones they sell on ebay they any good anyone tried one?
larsalan I guess I need to look at this stupid ass drip shit. What you have to like mess with those elements on the pump? What a fucking hassle. then use some wire to hold the throttle open or some shit?
I want to say that Rudolf cut one up to make his wild intake, and a couple other guys ran them

Yes. I have the one Rudolf made.
If you don't want to go to the trouble of custom-fabbing a one-piece combination intercooler-and-boost-pipe (manifold), then
http://www.frozenboost.com
offers a wide variety of inlet/outlet configurations and horsepower ratings. Model INT000213

looks like it might be useful on an OM617 Federal, if combined with a W115 300D boost pipe (intake manifold). The barrel-style intercoolers shown at

also might be useful.
