603 606 Oil Pans
603 606 Oil Pans
Not easily. See Zeitgeist's thread here, he used a 603 pan to clear the swaybar and had to modify the oil pump a bit.

(08-30-2013, 07:39 PM)zeeman Will the 603 and 606 oil pans interchange? Is there a 606 oil pan that has a rear sump, G wagon? I am doing a 606 conversion in a Toyota 4runner and the 606 pan sump is in the way of the steering.

I am using the 94 Toyota 5spd. trans. adapted to the 606. I will have a build thread probably on Pirate4x4 when I get further along with the project. I have some blogs there with the ZEEMAN handle.
I also have some pictures of my Cherokee 606 conversion on my web site with the adapter www.northwestdieseloffroad.com
Thanks Ron

Hey Ron,
Thanks for the info. I'm the Dan that contacted you a few months ago about getting a 606 into a JK Wrangler
That's why I'm so interested in you putting it into the 4Runner.
Thanks, I'll be following along.
I've been meaning to ask you for a while - why did you need to extend the nose of the Cherokee? I would have thought that it coming originally with an inline 6 would have made it ideal for the 606. I still don't have precise measurements of the JK engine bay, and I'm worried the 606 will be too long.
Any thoughts?
-Dan

Anyone know the depth difference between the 603 pan and the 606 pan. The distance between the bottom of the block and the bottom of the pan sump, and the length of the sump. Trying to see if there is enough difference to go to the 603 pan.

There is a post about swapping a 3L 603 into a 140 and the differences between that and the 3.5L. They are different pans and pickups, maybe its a better solution?
