OM606 IP - Swap Mech Governor
OM606 IP - Swap Mech Governor
Hi, I have an OM606 TD engine from a 1997 W210 E300, that I'm installing in a truck along with a Sprinter G28/5 manual transmission.
I have searched the numberous and informative threads here looking for an answer to the question:
Can the EMS governor on the PES6M6 ip be replaced with a mechanical governor from a suitable donor ip?
The proven route is to obtain a mech OM603 ip and transfer the 6mm elements. In the UK, the OM603 turbo ip is rare and usually must be imported. I believe that mech ip PES4M from the OM601 turbo is more readily available and I would like to investigate the possibility of using this as a donor ip for governor and housing.
Is there a critical feature in the electronic governor PES6M ip that eliminates it from being converted to mechanical governor for turbo application?
I appreciate any help on this topic.
Good morning fello Norfolker!
Does not need to be a turbo pump. Swap out the elements from the electronic IP and pop in to a 603/606NA pump. re calibrate then run.
(09-15-2013, 05:22 PM)mantahead electronic governor housing is completly different from mechanical and no where to put governor weights on cam.Manta head, thank you for confirming that the EMS camshaft can't carry a mechanical governor.
is there no om606 n/a over there, some had mechanical pump.(think it was 1994 to 96 w124)
