(10-26-2013, 06:27 AM)NGARover WOW I love your wagon..... Do mine next!
Which brings me to a dilemma... Alter my 85 or keep it original... It's a true 85 Euro TDT Everything in the car is in German lol.
By the way the engine is currently all kinds of fucked up. Took a giant crap on my dad while he was driving it to the airport. Currently is severely lacking power, and has a smoking problem. Might be time to start searching for a OM603...

Hahahaha thanks.
I say mod it, I like doing mods that are easily reversible, especially on cars that I plan on selling later on. So far my urge to sell my wagon is low.
I hear you. I love my wagon and I drive it everyday. I've put almost 20k on it since I bought it. I bought it the day after selling my 82 wagon (the black one) and then having seller remorse. Once I'm driving the 87 the 85 will be getting all the love, going to strip it and redo it.

Snagged a VDO boost gauge on amazon. I'll probably buy another ashtray and drill the face of it for EGT, boost, usb, and 12 volt.

I use to have a VDO boost gauge EGT gauge and oil temp in my 240d turbo under the ash tray in a vw mount
Found this while cleaning out the old iphone.

Found my problem. Somehow my engine is still healthy after eating the blades.
Lololololololol, probably because they're thin aluminum they just got smushed and melted and exited as vapor, although how they got past the intake valves is puzzling. You seriously need to keep that compressor wheel though
larsalan I guess I need to look at this stupid ass drip shit. What you have to like mess with those elements on the pump? What a fucking hassle. then use some wire to hold the throttle open or some shit?
I bet that made some noise when it was letting loose

Definitely pull the intake manifold and look down the ports to make sure there are not any remains stuck behind the valves!!!
(12-01-2013, 11:25 AM)MFSuper90 Wow! That's pretty crazy. Glad everything is still good! Besides the charger of courseYeah def a bit of a eye opener.
(12-01-2013, 11:30 AM)JB3 holy crap! amazingI know right, scary as shit, especially considering I've never noticed any side to side shaft play.

(12-02-2013, 06:01 PM)willbhere4u Definitely pull the intake manifold and look down the ports to make sure there are not any remains stuck behind the valves!!!Will do when I fix it. As of right now it starts, idles, and runs fantastically as a non turbo.

Upgrade to the kkk k26 while your at it. It cam on 1985 300sd and a few other years It spools faster that the t3 and is a direct bolt on
I have a stock charger, but it needs rebuilt before I would feel comfortable selling it to anyone. Or that hy35 is always here too
The car is currently at a friends shop, who happens to be a very skilled MB indy mechanic. The replacement KKK K26 off ebay should be there today.
On another note I'm thinking about dumping a lot of money on a drivers side Recaro Ideal C seat for it next week.

Yeah, pictures!!
And I can tell you an hx30 sounds badass on a 617, you just need more fuel to take complete advantage of it. I'm runnin 18lbs of boost, stock pump turned wayyy up, A/W, and my EGTs max out at 1300 on a long pull up a 10-15% grade.
Honestly, for no more money than I have in my hx30 swap it's worth is purely for the beautiful whistle
Manual swap is done, and road worthy. God damn it's fun.
Honestly it's out of this world fun.
Current Situ. 3 piece euro bumpers with factory oris hitch.
Appreciate it.
I bought a HX30 that was formerly owned by Rolf.
Haven't had time to hack off the EGR crap to make the turbo fit.
Make sure you have a 6cm^2 housing and not a 12cm. Our little engines will never spool a 12cm within reason
