Difference for 1st/2nd gear take off??
Difference for 1st/2nd gear take off??
Hi!
What part in 722.3xx transmission makes the difference between take-off in 1st or 2nd gear? Is it just the valve body or something else? Resp. could I replace the 722.357 (OM603 turbo) with another 722.3xx and change the valve body to keep 1st gear take-off?
I'm slowly looking for a spares gearbox - if it would be this simple this would be much easyer - as finding low-milage turbo-transmissions is difficult. And I don't want to lose 1st gear start
Thank you!

Early 90's c124 had this. Expands your search at least. Unknown would be a gasser trans and differnt shift pts. Info hazy. Dunno, worth a try.
If it wasn't for those @#$% two top bolts I woulda been commenting from the BTDT section. Ran outta time then on next trip... POOF! Thank you, come again.
