Solid flywheels for the OM60x
Solid flywheels for the OM60x
I recently picked up a solid flywheel from what I'm told was a W123 230E.
It's now bolted on the back of my OM605, and I'm in the process of making another gearbox adapter using a Ssangyong Musso T5 bellhousing which I just acquired onto a Rover R380 gearbox.
I'm just wondering how many different variants of solid flywheel there are that will bolt to the OM60x series of engines, if any and what the differences are? Also I haven't had a chance to measure but how much further back does the friction plate sit on a dual mass compared to a solid flywheel? I've taken the dual mass off my OM605 and put it on an OM606 which is now fitted to my Land Rover, and would like to convert that to a solid flywheel too in the future.
Ah OK, wasn't sure how many variants there would be, searching through Ebay I've found 215mm and 228mm clutches, and ignoring ignition timing marks would that be the fundamental difference I would encounter if I found another similar solid flywheel?
