w202 180 manual in W124 om603
Hi
I have a Mercedes Bens c-class 180. it has 1,8 gasolin engine and an a manual gearbox (same one that is in the C280 straight-6) and im wondering if i can put the manual gearbox in an e-class 300tdt? i dont have one at the moment but im thinking og buying one
sorry for my bad english, i hope you understand.
so i need a new flywheel, and to get it re welded to fit? can i use a flywheel from a 300td (non turbo) manual?
You can re use your existing C180 flywheel. I put a 1992 190e 5 spd behind an OM603. Transmission should be very similar to your C180. I believe the W202 manual pedal box also swaps over into the W124.

it will fit but clutch may not hold up. You need a flywheel and clutch setup from a 190e 16v or a 300E manual type setup (9" and 9.5" respectively).
Should even get a performance clutch/pressure plate if you have a built IP.
