Do you know if there is mechanical valve lifters for om605 / 06?
i dont remember any reason why someone would do that in a MB head, maybe a valve and Springs upgrade, but why not.
i know a place where they do that, usually they cut the bed to install shim type valve lifters. interesting in the MB head is that we have a separate bed from the head for lifters

Why would you want mechanical lifters?
Applied a turbo gt2559v in my om605 and I have a problem I can not explain it well, but I think the problem comes from the lifters

Why would you want mechanical lifters?

However I see no reason why it would not be possible to add solid lifters with shims to this engine - it was very common technology for a long time... But i believe you would be curing a symptom, not an illness with solid lifters

12-19-2014, 02:49 PM #5You are sure you are not drawing too much oil from the cylinder heads's supply semehow? Or have blown the headgasket now?? Usually the hydraulic lifters are free of trouble. If not broken (which can happen - they don't hold pressure and start to rattle).
