Boost OM605
Boost OM605
ne nene ,
absolute pressure should be about thirty and something, not 19.
if that was your question. MAP should be about thirty and something . 2.15BAR. was what i read somewhere. if u plug a boost gauge u should read 1.3 BAR inlet pressure diferential.
regards
that maters litle , the purpose is what maters , absolute pressure, or diferential pressure,
if u want to use this values to draw a map , u´ll need to deal with absolute pressures to compensate for losses in the piping filter and so on.
i seriously dought that u can find that written in any MB workshop manual, as the ECU mapping in that car does not relly in max boost, unless for protection features.
the maps are usually written taking account fuel economy, emissions, smoth ride, noise , max power the engine can do matters litle.
anyway i would like to see it in writing as well.
regards
sorry mate,
i dont know that , as i told u before the waste gate in those engines is not there to controll a absollute max boost, it serves many purposes and one of them is probably max boost when full throtle and engine at 3000rpm, 1.3bar , at 4000rpm 1.2, it has to do with a lot of variables. but that is what i think of it. (seen in operation) computers F%$#(
there´s a diff between early engines and late, late engines have a lot of electronic hardware, wich seem to play no purpose, besides fuel economy and power....
Hi, I understand what you're saying, it all makes sense. What I really want to know is if I put a pressure controlled waste gate actuator on the engine, with a standard 6mm mechanical pump, what pressure should I set the waste gate to open at? I don't want big HP, the standard 150ish. Thanks again!
usually what people do is, set the pressure according to fuel they have.
if u have a 6mm mech pump u can set it to open at 1.5 BAR
With a 6mm pump u can´t do more than that from the GT25, and the fueling is not enought to kill the engine by too high EGT´s , well assuming all is ok.
there is a fórum member that was complaining from engine stalling at 1.5BAR . his problema was control hardware so he plugged the vac to te actuator and stall occured at 1.5bar, i assume it was safety feature.
My w202 C250TD factory manifold pressure is 19psi, absolute would be 14.7 more than that, so 33.7 absolute.
That is read by the MAP sensor at the manifold, the compressor outlet would be more..
