OM 612 ECU reprograming
Hello fine people,
Would like to know if someone in this forum that have true knowledge about ECU tuning could give me a tip on wich software should i search for, and how do i plug it to my W203 with the 612 engine.
Intention is to acess the engine ECU program and rewrite it to my please.
Regards to all.
You make it so simple. But yes, someone could shed some light on it. Once I tried old MSA11 ECU, but for that you need EPROM programmer and something in which you read maps and tune them-Winols for example. Then you need to do checksum on new ECU content and burn it on EPROM. I doubt that old CDIs are flashable.
Thanks , i see your point...
I dont have a clue about the thing , but since everybody talks about repro´s X and Y , i assume there must be a means of build the algorithm so that we can reflash the EPROM.
My question is very simple , wich software can we use to read the EPROM algoritm. and how can we plug the thing , if we can do it without removing it from the board.
Even if they are not flashable they can be replaced by something that it is. or i´m i wrong about this?
There must be someone who know about this subject in this fórum, and i hope they will be willing to share some info.
Regards to all.

During programming through obd (k line) all on car, ecu go in some boot mode (not all ecu, not all car) and power up radiator / ac fun at full speed,
so people who don't know this can fail programming due to losing battery voltage !
chip desoldering is tricky and cleaning plc board, but have lot on youtube,
-needed is hot air station and small soldering tool, flux and quality soldering wire & Desoldering Wick
for programming on external programmer you need sop44 for plcc chip
http://www.weilei.pl/images/adaptery-uni...29f400.jpg
all need to be cleaned 200% to ensure perfect pin contact, some better programmer show bad pin conection and wont start reed/program before all 44 chip pins are ok...
chip need to be placed in right direction (point in corner), etc
there is allot more info but for start enough.......
I am not new to electronics, so these soldering and programming things dont bother as much as working with program itself. I found maps etc. But what about those checksums?

Almost every ECU is check the checksum in the EEPROM/FLASH.
There is an algorithm for check the checksum and create/correct the checksum.
'A checksum or hash sum is a small-size datum from a block of digital data for the purpose of detecting errors which may have been introduced during its transmission or storage. '
So if you change the data in the eeprom the checksum is not good for that. The ecu see 'something is damaged or modified' and the ecu will not 'boot'. Example at early EDC15 1.9 TDI 90/110HP you have no glow blink at ignition and the car will not start. This is why you need correct the checksum.
As turbojet wrote: "vag-suite calculate checksum at end". Vag Suite will never calculate checksum and in the software the checksum correct/checking is not working.
Turbojet you wrote many things but they are not correct
They call itt PLCC32 to DIP32 adapter. DIP32 old one PLCC32 is newer.
In this time you can only buy that programmer what showing what PINS are not correct, need to clean- fix it.
You will erase -> write -> read -> check.
Any question in the future... just write it.
