Mercedes 190 2.5 Turbo diesel slow

Recently i buy a Mercedes 190 2.5 Turbo diesel and the engine is god, sounds very well and doens´t have strange noises but i think that it´s a little bit slow for 125 hp and doesn´t make any smoke. Maybe the previous owner did something to the injection pump to make it more economic?

probably not I would guess because it just isnt super easy to change that. My guess is its just slow and the fuel may need to be turned up!
