hey folks...
anyone knows if om605 2.5td engine got some sort of cousin? i have heard that the 2.9l block is the same? is that true?

No, not in my knowledge.
Although the 2.9 liter OM662 is based in the 602. and the OM602.98X 2.9ltr DI is based on the 602 it is even 2 valve.
The 605 block can be drilled to 89mm bores and then.... there is no pistons to use with the 4 valve pockets and the same diameter wrist pin.
