W210 EDC pump. Connect voltage meter to rack position sensor
W210 EDC pump. Connect voltage meter to rack position sensor
Dear friends
I have a boost gauge to measure the amoint of boost.
Is it possicle to connect (tap on) the electric cable goint to EDC pump, to see the voltage coming out of tack travel sensor? I would find it usefull to know what is the voltage on rack position sensor. If its 4.5V i would be sure that the fueling is 100% according to the map. And that the engine simply runs on 100% fuelong available.
What do you think?
Is there a better place to tap in near ECU? Any clue what cables colors to tap in? Will it compromise computer signals? A small voltometer in cabin?
It is not since on HDK rack sensor there is HF sinewave and at the rack coil itself there is rectangular PWM signal.. well multimeter will measure something there but it will surely not correspond with voltage map in the ECU. Better is to use live-data diagnosis but these old diesels require STAR to see this.
starynovy nailed it there.
The CC212/5 chip that controls the rack position, outputs an analogue and digital signal and these represent the rack position to the microprocessor.
When you measure the signals at the rack position, you are measuring an AC signal so any multimeter will just show RMS of this in DC.
your map is scaled to 4.0-4.1V
there is more but it will begin to get smokey on boost. unless you plan on running 3bar.
I plan on running unlimited boost
My WG is forced closed, giving 2.1 bar boost on you map sir.
But i didnt buy a 3 bar boost gauge for nothing i had 1.9 boost on stock elemects in stock pump. I had (27psi) on remapped 6mm element 260km/h. I would like to have 4.5v and full rack travel and see how much boost my stock manifold with adapter can deliver.
The mapsensor is a 3 bar audi. And i saw my pump give 16cm fuel on 100 strokes when it was on the bench.
I belive i have tturbo big enough to 3 bar, and fueling 160ccm/1000strokes at 4.5v.
I relaise that above 2.2 boost i will be putting my headgasket at danger. I have a spare engine
I want to see more boost. Smoke disaperas on full throtttke around 4500rpm.
Can you pease send me a map that 4500-5500 gives 4.5v?
Call it crazyass headgasket killer LL & HH
i can happily send you a map to max the rack voltage but you where having issues with that turbo at 6k so raising the fuelling is going to introduce that problem lower in the rev range.
When i get a chance ill send you a revised map, but be warned your into hx40 territory now.
" crazyass headgasket killer LL & HH " haha
