Buddies,

My OM605 shakes sometimes at idle. I couldn't define any exact status when it is doing that, it also happens cold and hot, no matter how much I've driven before. Just one thing maybe, when I stop at the traffic light it may not shake but after a 20-30 seconds it can start also. What do you think what should I take a deeper look on? Nozzles?

OM603 mechanical pump, 7,5mm elements. Pump has been restored not much ago. Timing is on the original signing.

Thanks!

If it is intermittent then it is your pump. Probably a delivery valve sticking.
Sounds like a modified pump.

The pump has 7,5mm elements. It is in good condition, also the power is perfect.
The pump has to be disassembled to cure sticking valve if that is the problem?

No, just delivery valves which are on top. So no further dismantling is needed no calibration.

Can a sticking valve do any harm? Mine does the same up to 1500 rpm than smooths out.

A few drops of engine oil inside?

Nope.. it is submerged in high pressure diesel so oil will not help. If it would stick you can lap it or change it.

Usually delivery valves don't stick, they just fail due to careless pump installation when dust gets in from fuel lines and even smallest dust can ruin delivery valve seat or even element tip. If it sometimes runs smooth then maybe dust particle is stuck in valve seat and maybe it just needs cleaning. Try to loosen injector lines one by one at idle to make sure which cyl is problematic.

Trying the Liqui Moly (Lubro Moly) Diesel Purge cleaning would worth anything? Both for pump and nozzles. Ideas?

Actually I think the delivery valve really sticked as ione of the cylinders didn't run for a 20-30 seconds in idle, and after that started again.
The diassembly to clean the delivery valve means what this guy shows, so untight the upper side and clean everything above the copper washer?
