HI,Everyone i have an project W126 300SE RHD which was an ex taxi in malaysia,it used to have an M103 petrol engine but it was swapped out to an 602.911 with an automatic transmission. Now here's the thing I only have issuse with the 602 NA its that i need to keep flooring the acclerator to make the tranmission drop to 1st gear to make to be able to move off from a stop light but once up to highway speeds its able to maintain its pace well,i am temped to change the engine and transmission to an OM617 turbo from an 300SD half cut but its seems to be an expensive swap imo but its also good because the cars dosent struggle as much with the 602 NA,but at the same time parts for an 602 is easily availabe in my region compared with the 617A anyone could share their tought and opinions? If lets say i would go the route of fitting the OM617A engine and tranny from an 300SD 126 would it be feasible to do so and may i know what is the suitable differential to fit it would work on this swap?

Just my thoughts here :
the 602 even in its NA version is strong enough for your needs . Sounds like you'll be happy with 150-200bhp which the NA will put out with a turbo on it, so if it's easy to get, that sounds like the way to go .

Another thing to consider would be finding a first gear start valve body for that transmission, if I recall some of the 722.3 were second gear start while others were first gear start. If you find a first gear start valve body it'll prevent having to floor it. Another way is to drop it into S or 2 on the shifter and it'll start in first.
