hi.
building jeep om606. Because of front axle wanted use m104(center sump) oil pan and long neck oil pump(603 motor).
all align and bolt into om606 perfectly, only issue is 603 pumps had max 34mm gears inside pump and 606 has 37mm gears.
Anyone know if that affect oil flow volume .. i mean if lubracation will not be enough on idle when warm??
also ... some people use om648 oil pump anyone knows gears width??
was thinking... om603 om606 om648 are similar engines..
603(3.5td) - has 34mm gears oil flow is calculated to enough
606td. has 1 camshaft more in head so... they increased gears to 37mm to get more oil..
648 has no injection pump .... i think they use smaller gears because 1 lubrication point less
any thought advice please!!

You might want to check this out : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBKNkqJrDjA
I think he uses a 613 pump which has two sets of gears working in parallel.
The pumps which are used on rear sump engines have an additional transfer pump that moves oil to the rear of the sump and is not connected to the oil gallery . I have one for a rear sump laying around but didn't have enough time during the weekend to measure the gear sizes. check here as well https://nemigaparts.com/cat_spares/epc/mercedes/
