is putting a turbo just bolt on ? for a Holset HX35 turbo do I need change the exhaust manifold? this car is stock, should i do the super chip to it?
i think i would like 350 hp what else will have to be changed?
thanks, sendo

The stock turbo and exhaust manifold mate to one another with a unique triangular flange with 3 bolts/studs. The hx35 (and most other turbos) use a rectangular 4 bolt flange so it is not bolt-on.
I don't have experience with the chip tunes but I know the stock exhaust manifold will perform poorly (high back pressure and EGT).
My opinion is to try to improve the efficiency of the intake charge air with bigger/better intercooler, chip tune, EDC maxed out, water/meth injection, etc. before swapping out turbos & custom manifolds.
The modest increase you'll get might satisfy your desire for more power but it'll definitely be cheaper than custom manifolds.

what is EDC?, and the manifolds have to be custom made no one sell's them made already for this engine?

Oh boy. EDC refers to the electronic diesel control type of fuel injection pump (that you have) which can be swapped for an earlier mechanical version from either a OM606 or OM603 or remain electronic if only chip tuning.
All this stuff is covered many places on this and other sites. You've got some reading to do ;-)

yes i need to read more on this, but alot of the stuff i find seems to extreme like the guy with the turbo and blower, or sending the pump away for bigger elements, will that be something i have to do to get 350hp?

Here's an adapter for your exhaust manifold. I suggest getting an entire tubular manifold though. They're available from many sources.

That turbo adapter for the cast OE manifold is pretty tits. I might have to get me one of those.  Big Grin
