Hi everyone,

Can a EGT probe be mounted at the manifold EGR exit?
I am affraid to drill and tap the exaust manifold and this solution can be a much easier.

Hi Carlos,
as long as the probe reaches into the (main) exhaust flow, yes why not. I understand that you just want to use the hole of the EGR exit without the tube to the intake.

I dont think it will be far enough in the flow there. I have to drill and tap one myself as my euro manifold does not have a test port like the federal does.

for 85 owners (or motors that came with additional smog devices)...another option is a plug at the far left of the exhaust manifold.

plug was removed, and tapped for EGT probe threads.
