Thanks!

And yes Monstercrawlers, You'll need to cut the tunnel to fit the 722.6xx gearbox. I don't think you actually have to do it, but you'll need to find a solution to lower the engine even more. Thats a real problem because then it may take a dry sump or welded cross member to make it fit. The angle the engine sits at is already quiet big with the oil pump on the front cross member and center of the gearbox yoke at the top of the tunnel (photo 3).

This will force me to use U joints in the driveshaft instead of using flex disks. I'm afraid the angle is too big for flex disks.
U joints can cause nasty vibrations... so yeah problems keep adding up...

Can't u devide the driveshaft in 2 pieces and put a u joint in the midle? That's how it works on my Ford F100 with BMW Twin turbo V8 diesel ;-)

I think thats how the stock driveshaft is suppose to be. There's a U-joint in the middle with a support bearing. But the main problem is with flex disks the driveshaft needs to be 100% in line with the gearbox and crank. And I don't think it is since the gearbox yoke is a few cm higher than stock Big Grin

Unfortunately not really.

The engine is out again. For the last time I hope. Finally found a fitting torque converter from a 270cdi.

Made a dipstick for the gearbox. Tested the gearbox controller. A few little things.

Started working on the quick spool setup I designed. I don't think I ever mentioned that here but it's comparable with the Volvo power pulse system.

Need to do some bodywork. Weld the tunnel, tidy up the engine bay. (probably paint it black, want to do a respray in the future).
