RE: New Member, Plus Explain about Diesel Turbos. - ForcedInduction - 08-01-2010 Not to mention you get a timing belt to change every 60k miles. RE: New Member, Plus Explain about Diesel Turbos. - mk216v - 08-01-2010 (08-01-2010, 07:36 PM)winmutt Buying a VW - All the high priced maintenance of a BMW or Mercedes but you get the ride quality of a yugo. Err, not quite so. Late model Mercedes parts are MUCH more expensive than VW. BMW is somewhere in the middle. I assume it was an Mk3 VR6? Sorry to hear your dislike with VW now but treat yourself and drive an Mk5 or better yet an Mk6 and I think your mind will change. The Mk6's are by far the best VW's yet. (Of course we're talking about Mk4 TDi's in this discussion, which weren't bad, but the Mk5/6's put anything earlier to shame quickly). Just my $0.03.
