Oil temp sender question. - Actros617 - 08-08-2010 Can a M14 1.5 sized sender replace the oil drain plug from a OM617.95 (turbo) RE: Oil temp sender question. - ForcedInduction - 08-08-2010 Yes, as long as it has a way to seal on the oil pan. An o-ring or crush washer. However, it will be very low to the ground. Nearly every 616/617 I see in the junkyards has a side of the plug head scraped off. I wouldn't do it without getting the belly pan first. RE: Oil temp sender question. - Actros617 - 08-09-2010 Oil plug scrapped?? I dont see any scrapings on my drain bolt, the plug resides at the rear of the oil pan i dont see possible ways for it to scrape unless your trying to rally jump with your Mercedes |
