i just wanted to know if it was possible to adjust the idle slightly higher on a w116 300sd turbo diesel om617.

Yes. There is a long nut looking thing on the IP.

where exaclty is that nut? im going to check first thing tommorrow morning and adjust.
any diagram or picture of the IP and location of idle adjustment?

Just look with a light. its like a 1" long nut.

Its on the engine side of the injection pump. 14mm lock nut and flatblade screwdriver to adjust. Do not over tighten or you can break off the mount like on this pump.

Forced showed you in the picture, its the same piece. Except in the picture its just broken off.
