IP vacuum ports - Gasoline Fumes - 03-20-2009 Could someone tell me what the different vacuum ports on my '85 IP do? I pulled all the vacuum stuff out and want to start from scratch and keep it simple. I understand the ALDA, but why the two connections on it? I can eliminate one, right? Which is the shutoff? I have a diagram, but it doesn't show everything and it certainly doesn't tell me what I can remove. RE: IP vacuum ports - winmutt - 03-20-2009 A is boost to ARV B is boost from manifold E is shutoff valve i think (not sure where it goes. C is vac vent from cabin D is either from the main vac line or to the trans cant remember. RE: IP vacuum ports - ForcedInduction - 03-20-2009 That is right. A and B can be combined into 1 port. RE: IP vacuum ports - Gasoline Fumes - 03-21-2009 Thanks! RE: IP vacuum ports - winmutt - 03-21-2009 A makes a handy place to pull boost signal for gauges IF you have no leaks. Otherwise it is a REALLY bad place to leak... RE: IP vacuum ports - Gasoline Fumes - 03-28-2009 Why is a leak there really bad? RE: IP vacuum ports - winmutt - 03-28-2009 If you leak to the ALDA you will lose fuel. RE: IP vacuum ports - Gasoline Fumes - 03-29-2009 That's what I thought, but "REALLY bad" made me think something worse would happen. Like mechanic damage or something. |
