should I buy a 722.632? - TheDon - 01-19-2013 So there is a CLK430 coming into my local junkyard. It's going to be in the premium lot, so the price of the transmission is going to be double the normal price ($117 is normal). I also have a 10% off coupon so I can get it for $220 (core charge) Should I jump on it and hold onto it for my 606 project and hopefully someone will sell a microcontroller for it soon? or should I not get it. what else will I need with the transmission, torque converter? Shifter assembly?? RE: should I buy a 722.632? - aaa - 01-19-2013 $220 is definitely still a good price, assuming its good. The microcontroller already exists btw, it's pricey though. Definitely grab the torque converter. The shifter module, seems like most of its electronics would be replaced by a controller so I'm not sure how useful it'd be. RE: should I buy a 722.632? - TheDon - 01-19-2013 The car it's in looks great over all except it appears to have hit another car with its right front. Mangled the front end. RE: should I buy a 722.632? - TheDon - 01-20-2013 Anyone have pics of the 722.6 installed into a w124 RE: should I buy a 722.632? - TheDon - 01-22-2013 (01-19-2013, 03:32 PM)aaa $220 is definitely still a good price, assuming its good. The microcontroller already exists btw, it's pricey though. A member here has a home brew solution that I will buy if and when I go through with this. I just need to see pics and junk of those that have installed it in a 124 before. I just hope I can get the trans in 2 weeks when I am back from Idaho. Maybe by then it wont sell and they will stick the car in general population so the prices are normal. Fun part will be getting it out of the car since I cannot drop it without a jack (no jacks allowed). So I will have to pull the engine and then put the engine back in the car most likely. Plus I believe I will need to swap the front half of the transmission so it bolts up to the 606 since its currently in a CLK430 (V8)..... Would I need the flywheel too? I hope not. and I do hope I do not need to do anything to my driveshaft. RE: should I buy a 722.632? - TheDon - 02-02-2013 I'm totally game to go get one tomorrow. Just found out the 2000 C230 has the 722.6. I sure hope the c230 sitting there has the transmission and is in good shape. Plus it's normal price, $117 for the transmission and torque converter. Plus I have a 10% off coupon. Win! |
