Pump energy consumption - dalek - 07-05-2009

How much HP/W does a Bosch MW pump needs to work at idle and, say, 5200rpm?

Test benches use a 10-20hp 220v motor to run the pump during calibration. Remember, the pump spins at 1/2 engine speed.

Does the amount of energy needed to spin the pump go up as the fuel volume goes up, I would like to see what the pump requires for energy at 4,500 engine RPM with no load v/s load.
I would think the bigger elements would be a source of load increase, maybe even higher pop off pressure could add load.
