Thanks! Greetings to all ! RE: help for OM605 swap to w201 - cho - 11-27-2013 (11-24-2013, 06:47 PM)ad0 Hello everyone im new in this forum , I have questions anyone can help me you can go both ways, the second is quite easier.(tuning needed for mechanic pump also...) it is not just a pump you have to worry about ... also IIRC you will have to resolve engine height issue and possibly tranny space... if you choose to go option one,.better have complete car donor ready . RE: help for OM605 swap to w201 - ad0 - 11-28-2013 very easier the second option ?? than first option.. original elements of the fuel pump om605 - 5.5 mm or 6.0 mm? if I want to put a mechanical pump ( om602) what elements need to put 7.0 mm or 7.5 mm or 6.0 mm ....? dynamics of engine will change ? will give the same results or will be a little faster? because I will use it for daily driving roughly to do 160-180h.p first stage RE: help for OM605 swap to w201 - cho - 11-28-2013 (11-28-2013, 05:39 AM)ad0 well...... why bother? go with om605.960/2 . RE: help for OM605 swap to w201 - ad0 - 11-28-2013 Yeah, me too thought about om605.960/62 but I'm worried because I've never done this procedure , and want to know what I need before I started the project so i need to start engine (ECU+Fuel Pump Controller ?) thanks for HELP RE: help for OM605 swap to w201 - cho - 11-29-2013 . as mentioned earlier....you have to decide...will you go mech or electrical mechanical is easier less initial work and more room for pimping fuel supply as for second option ... just buy whole donor car... as to my knowledge c250td are quite cheap in Bulgaria and just swap EVERYTHING to w201 if you dont have any automotive electric knowledge just take snapshot of EVERYTHING before disconcerting plugs if 380hp is your final goal..well... save some money..contact dieselmaken and off ya go .... . RE: help for OM605 swap to w201 - ad0 - 11-29-2013 thanks for helping. would be easier with mechanical ,anyway my current engine Is om602 (2.5D) i can take mech pump , but first need to ordered elements to pump 7.0mm ,or maybe 6.0mm, i Watch the video of dieselmeken , with 6.0mm on om605 960 RE: help for OM605 swap to w201 - erling66 - 11-30-2013 My advice, forget the electric pump, you will probably never get it running. Use your 602 pump as it is. Install the pump on the engine, install the engine and gearbox and make it a running car. When everything works fine and you still feel like working, then you can think about more power(bigger elements, bigger turbo, intercooler, etc) I have seen so many projects where the owner wants to do everything at once and never finish and sells the car in parts with a big loss. So do it step by step and make it running between every step RE: help for OM605 swap to w201 - ad0 - 11-30-2013 yeah this is a good idea for stock engine ,without change elements step by step, slowly but glorious very good advice ...
