1991 300d almost stalls please help - 300dw124 - 02-28-2014 Im new here I just purchased a 1991 mercedes 300d 2.5 my issue is when I let off the fuel pedal the car it almost stalls sometimes it will shut off too. Can anyone help me anyone else ever have this issue? RE: 1991 300d almost stalls please help - Stevo-trendy - 02-28-2014 Air leak ? Check your fuel pipes the clear ones go hard & brittle with age & split letting air into the system , also worth taking the fuel tank strainer out & cleaning it if it hasn't already been done RE: 1991 300d almost stalls please help - 300dw124 - 02-28-2014 Thnak you I will take a look and see if thats the cause RE: 1991 300d almost stalls please help - Duncansport - 02-28-2014 Does it always idle low? Id start by checking the overvoltage relay and it's fuse mounted on top. It is located behind the battery, red with a 10A fuse in the top. RE: 1991 300d almost stalls please help - 300dw124 - 02-28-2014 It idles just above the 5 http://youtu.be/6Am-od9sncU this is a video of what its doing RE: 1991 300d almost stalls please help - Duncansport - 03-01-2014 Idles to low, check the overvoltage relay. If it's ok check the elr for power. RE: 1991 300d almost stalls please help - 300dw124 - 03-01-2014 Where are they located RE: 1991 300d almost stalls please help - Duncansport - 03-01-2014 (03-01-2014, 11:49 AM)300dw124 Where are they located behind the battery clipped to the ABS controller bracket RE: 1991 300d almost stalls please help - 300dw124 - 03-02-2014 I checked everything the lines are good the overvoltage relay is good still havnt found the elr. Im starting to loose hope RE: 1991 300d almost stalls please help - Duncansport - 03-02-2014 Elr is the red hoocky puck looking thing sticking off the back of the injection pump. It has a two wire plug on the top that controls the idle RE: 1991 300d almost stalls please help - Tito - 03-02-2014 Could be me but isn't that thing overheated? I never ever got mine above 80. RE: 1991 300d almost stalls please help - 300dw124 - 03-02-2014 I hope its not over heating I dont know the normal operating time RE: 1991 300d almost stalls please help - Duncansport - 03-03-2014 (03-02-2014, 10:38 PM)300dw124 I hope its not over heating I dont know the normal operating time Did you check the ELR yet Operating temp is between 80-100C on the gauge. With the engine running there should be a ground and some sort of power at the connector for the elr.
