rear sump for 606 - gary andrews - 08-17-2016 hi after a rear sump, oil pump and dip stick, too rear sump a 606 anything out there RE: rear sump for 606 - matfield - 08-17-2016 http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=83111&page=23 A bit of info on the Land Rover forum ironically... the guy seemed to have done a bit of research. RE: rear sump for 606 - ross - 08-18-2016 I'm one of the posters on that particular thread! (landroversforever on there) You want an OM648 sump and oil pump from a W211 E Class. Not all OM648 sumps are the rear type, the S class one for example is a front bowl. The bellhousing pattern isn't quite right at the bottom, but overlaps enough to redrill once you've filled in the thin webs with weld. RE: rear sump for 606 - JoeB - 08-20-2016 (08-18-2016, 09:57 AM)ross I'm one of the posters on that particular thread! (landroversforever on there)Lolz... I think I'm the guy with the same Av on the other forum... I Better go change it so people don't draw irrational conclusions. RE: rear sump for 606 - ross - 08-22-2016 I gave up looking for the parts on their own as I was fed up of not getting any replies back from the breakers. I ended up just buying a whole engine from Ebay. RE: rear sump for 606 - Nick S - 08-22-2016 Luke at DPUK supplies rear sump pans and pumps Nick RE: rear sump for 606 - 50harleyrider - 08-24-2016 (08-22-2016, 10:22 PM)Nick S Luke at DPUK supplies rear sump pans and pumps700 pounds is what he quoted me. I see why guys buy the whole engine. RE: rear sump for 606 - ross - 08-24-2016 That's about what my local dealer was going to charge me for the bits. RE: rear sump for 606 - JoeB - 08-24-2016 You might think it sounds a little OTT, but in reality, go price the bits through a dealer for brand new parts. You may be pleasantly surprised what a discount you can get if you ask nicely. RE: rear sump for 606 - hooblah - 08-25-2016 Lol Luke. He's more expensive than Merc themselves. RE: rear sump for 606 - Nick S - 08-25-2016 (08-25-2016, 10:06 AM)hooblah Lol Luke. He's more expensive than Merc themselves. I guess in the end it depends what you think that they are worth to you and how badly/quickly you need the parts. You can always break out the saw and TIG welder and try to modify what you've got Cheers Nick RE: rear sump for 606 - JoeB - 08-26-2016 OM648 sump 6480140202 USD$409.60 full retail. Oil pump is more expensive than the sump. buy an OM648 complete RE: rear sump for 606 - starynovy - 08-26-2016 700USD Eur pounds or whatever for that? Phew I am glad that I live there, both things on a lucky day for 50USD no more.. and since UK is in Europe too I can tell luke is a dick. RE: rear sump for 606 - hooblah - 08-26-2016 Hahaha no comment :/ RE: rear sump for 606 - JoeB - 08-27-2016 My thing about buying new parts is a) they have a 2 year warranty and b) they are BRAND NEW. being genuine, you also can be quite assured it is not a box of PRC made shite with no quality control measures taken in manufacture. I would buy a new oil pump. It's probably the most important component in the whole engine - since it is the part that keeps everything lubricated properly. sump? meh - cut n shut, or new... doesn't matter too much, but even new is not really that expensive. You should try pricing a sump for an R107... |
